Yes I agree completely on your point around story points. It’s not the points faults it’s the people that add them up.

The fact of the matter is no matter the original intent, they will be misused and misinterpreted.

Taking the approach of, let’s expect everyone to look at something and understand what its for is a nice thought, in practice I think removing the illusion that they can be added up is a cleaner and more implicit form of communication.

Whether that’s t shirt sizes, animals, fruit whatever. It has the same effect.
